ICASS Basics
This tutorial will help you understand how ICASS provides shared administrative support services at US Embassies and Consulates overseas. It will discuss how ICASS costs are charged to your Agency based on the administrative services your Agency has elected to receive, how a post ICASS Council, Budget Committee and service providers share the responsibilities for ICASS, and how ICASS is structured in Washington. Finally, this session will show you where to go to get answers to any questions you may have about ICASS.

This video will explain Time Allocation, where it fits into the ICASS system and why it is essential that Service Provider staff time be correctly allocated to the appropriate Cost Center. If you are a Service Provider, it will give you some ideas on how to correctly allocate your time to the Cost Centers in which you work. If you are a member of the ICASS Budget Committee, you are charged with approving Time Allocation at your June meeting. This session will give you some tips on what to look for when you review Time Allocation.

ICASS bill payers collectively pay more than 3 billion dollars worldwide for ICASS administrative support services. There isn’t a Department or Agency that wouldn’t like to pay less for ICASS services. During this session, we will give you some ideas about legitimate ways you and other bill payers might pursue to assure that each Agency is paying its fair share - and no more - for ICASS services. More importantly, we’ll tell you how you and other Agency representatives cooperating together can all pay less for ICASS services.
